Investigations
Investigations Led by a Former Federal Prosecutor.
We conduct internal investigations, executive and partner vetting, and board-directed inquiries. Our approach is informed by experience on both sides of an investigation, as a former federal prosecutor and Manhattan Assistant District Attorney, and as outside counsel defending companies and executives in government inquiries.
Internal Investigations
Workplace misconduct and harassment allegations
Discrimination and retaliation complaints
Financial irregularities and fraud concerns
Whistleblower and anonymous complaint response
Executive and senior leader conduct investigations
Executive and Partner Vetting
Pre-hire deep background vetting for C-suite and board appointments
Partnership and joint venture vetting
Reputational and regulatory risk assessments
Board-Directed Investigations
Boards engage us when an internal matter requires independent inquiry, when existing counsel has a conflict, or when the investigation itself needs to withstand external scrutiny. We handle the investigation, produce a report, and advise on next steps.
Government Inquiry Response
When a regulator, investigator, or law enforcement agency makes contact, the first seventy-two hours shape the rest of the matter. We advise on document preservation, witness preparation, and the response strategy, whether the inquiry is civil, regulatory, or criminal.
Why a Prosecutor's Perspective Matters
Investigations look different when you have run them from the government side. We know what investigators look for, what gets scrutinized in hindsight, and what gaps in an internal inquiry become liabilities later. That perspective shapes how we design investigations and how we advise clients responding to them.
